6th edition of the Hawassa Half Marathon is set to take place on Sunday 23 April 2017.
The race comprises of 21km, 7km and children races.
It has been staged for 5 years until 2014 under the umbrella of “EVERY ONE Campaign” and was discontinued in the past 2 years due to various reasons.
Online registration for international participants is now open (see registration page).

Hawassa is situated 275km south of Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa at an altitude of 1700m. Hawassa is the regional capital of southern Ethiopia.
A section of the race course runs alongside Lake Hawassa which is a popular place for birdwatchers.

Temperatures in Hawassa in April tend to rise to around 30C in the middle of the day but are at around 10-15C in the early morning and late evening.
