1 June 2014 -2014 CRBC/AACRA Relay marks Great Ethiopian Run’s 100th race. In the elite athletes 3km x 4 Relay competition Assela and ELPA Club athletes won in the women and men relay respectively. Addis Ababa University (AAU) was the overall winner of the mass 1km x 6 relay which saw 150 teams in 7 categories. 100 children supported by Right to Play have taken part in 1.2km race at the end of the relay competitions to mark the 100th race organized by Great Ethiopian Run in the past 13 years. 11th edition of the relay which was started in 2004 when the ring road was inaugurated has been promoting “Road Safety” is one of the first expansions of Great Ethiopian Run races after the successful 10km international. Other annual race started the same year in 2004 was the Confidence women first 5km which also marked it’s 11th edition last March.
29 May 2014 - A total of 40,000 fun runners & elite athletes will take part in the 2014 Great Ethiopian Run International 10k. Organizers stated even if it's possible to register more participants, they want to focus on improving the quality of the event and give the best experience to participants.
4 May 2014 – Europe Day Children Races is part of the Europe Day celebrations in Ethiopia. European Union's day celebrates the day the EU's predecessor was proposed in 1950. Europe Day is one of a number of European symbols designed to foster unity among Europeans. The European Union in Ethiopia has been supporting the Children races for the last 10 years. The event has become very popular.
13 May 2014 - Tenaw Belete won the biggest race of his career in the 2014 EVERY ONE Campaign Half-Marathon Race in Hawassa on Sunday 11th May, while Yewebdar Teshome stepped up from her ninth place finish in 2013 to become this year’s women’s champion. Meanwhile in the mass 21km race there were wins for Yibeltal Biyalf (1:20:17) in the men’s race and Kirstin Mitchell (1:40:03) in the women’s race. Including the mass 7km race and the children’s races more than 3,500 participants took part in this year’s EVERY ONE races.
13 April 2014 - Wudasse and Molla become winners of 1st race of the 2014 Coca-Cola Road Series. In the men’s race Getaneh Molla wins the race in a time of 21:16 ahead of second place finisher Zewdu Mekonnen (21:18) and third place finisher Gemechu Edeo (21:21). Edeo who is the 2013 Coca-Cola Series overall winner couldn’t respond to Molla’s final kick. In the women’s race Shito Wudassie take victory in time of 24:29 finishing ahead of Mihret Tefera (24:31) and Alemitu Awi (24:32) who were second and third respectively.
