19 June 2015 – The newly built Lebu-Akaki- Kaliti Tulidimtu Road which is phase-2 of the Ring Road hosts the International First Highway (IFH ) Relay races. IFH Engineering Plc with its new name used to be called CRBC Addis Engineering plc has build the famous ring road and major roads including the Meskel Square to Bole Airport road. IFH Ring Road Relay was staged in collaboration with Addis Ababa Road Authority and China Communication and Construction Company (CCCC) which is Mother Company to IHF.
25 June 2015 – Haile Gebreselassie will lead 40,000 participants at his last local race at the 15th edition of the Great Ethiopian Run taking place on Sunday 22 November 2015. Haile did his last international race in UK at the Great Manchester Run which is organized by the Great Run Company which is also a title sponsor of the 2015 Great Ethiopian Run. Haile Said “it will be an honour for me to close my athletics career at local event and doing the Great Ethiopian Run alongside 40,000 others will make sense in many ways ”. Haile has won the inaugural race in 2001 and has been supporting the event to get it where it is today.
15 April 2015- The DASANI ROAD RACE is brought to you by Great Ethiopian Run in partnership with the East African Bottling Share Company (EABSC). This race will be the second biggest race ever staged in Ethiopia with 15,000 participants and builds on the success of the Coca-Cola Road Race Series which started in 2011.
14 June 2015 - Tirunesh Dibaba graces the 2015 Dasani Road Race by making her public appearance after giving birth to her first child three months ago as official Race Starter. She is accompanied by her husband athlete Sileshi Siheen, Haile Gebresselasie (Great Ethiopian Run Board Chairman) and some of Ethiopian Olympians including Million Wolde, Ibrahim Jeilan and Asefa Mezgebu.
15 March 2015 – Over 20 Ethiopian “Icon Women” grace the annual Women First 5km run inspiring thousands of participants. A young athlete by the name of Genet Abdurkadir from Federal Prisons club has beaten experienced athletes like Alemitu Hawi & Atsede Bayisa finishing the 5km race in 16:12 (min:sec) followed by Makeda Abdella (16:16) & Bonesh Tamene(16:17).
