September 4th, 2016 – Bishoftu, Ethiopia – Today The Coca-Cola Company celebrates successful completion of the 2016 Copa Coca-Cola National Tournament championship games. The Coca-Cola Company wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude and respect to the thousands of Ethiopian youth who made the commitment to participate in the 2016 Copa Coca-Cola games and pledge allegiance to a fair game. It is encouraging to have enthusiastic and energetic players from around the country hoping to build professional careers in football.
August 27th, 2016 – Bishoftu, Ethiopia – Today, The Coca-Cola Company proudly announces the opening ceremony for the final level of the 2016 Copa Coca-Cola National Tournament taking place in Bishoftu. The competition reaching a total of 27,000 teenagers, from 11 regions in Ethiopia, has competitively selected 18 of the best players (from both boys and girls) with a grand total of 396 players participating in this national tournament. High officials in cooperation from Coca-Cola and the Ethiopian Football Federation will be in attendance. This year’s Ethiopian Women’s premier league top scorer and the Ethiopian National U-20 team captain, Loza Abera (striker), will be the special VIP guest.
July 15th, 2016 – Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Today Coca-Cola launches grassroots level games for the 2016 Copa Coca-Cola National Tournament. The competition reaching a total of 27,000 teenagers, will engage 450 teams from Addis Ababa with 220 girl teams and 230 boy teams at the Abebe Bikilia Stadium. On June 3rd, 2016, Gambela was the first of 11 regions on the grassroots level with a total of 80 teams evenly split between the two genders who have respectively gained the privilege of also moving on to the regional phase today.
10 August 2016 – The 3rd edition of the Ethio-trail race takes place on at Abiyatta-Shalla Lakes National part on Sunday 7 August despite the unrest in the oromia region on the Saturday that stranded some of the participants in Zeway since some people were blocking the road and throwing stones.
Unlike other times its been raining strongly in the park and it affected the race course as some part of the course was slippery and some part muddy so the organizers were forced to reduce the 42km race to 21km putting the participants safety as a priority.
6 June 2016 – Part of the 2.5 billion birr Megenagna-Coca Cola factory road hosts the annual IFH/AACCRA Relay. The road is part of the Addis Ababa light railway and has five bridges although the relay took place on a 3km Meskel Sqaure-Captial Hotel – Golagule Tower section of the road.
IFH Engineering Plc with its new name used to be called CRBC Addis Engineering plc has build the famous ring road and major roads including the Meskel Square to Bole Airport road. IFH Ring Road Relay was staged in collaboration with Addis Ababa Road Authority and China Communication and Construction Company (CCCC) which is Mother Company to IFH.
