This year’s run included a “sub-35-minute challenge” issued by Goodwill Ambassador of the Women First run Meseret Defar. Participants who managed to finish the 5km in under 35 minutes are given a special certificate signed by Meserat Defar.
Reflecting on the success of this year’s event, Great Ethiopian Run Strategy and Innovation Manager Dagmawit Amare said “each year we want to add something new to the event to keep our participants happy. Our experience has been that once they take part, they never want to miss it the next time.”
