Great Ethiopian Run to receive Zeresenai Tadesse as its Guest of Honor
November 1 – It is now a tradition that the Great Ethiopian run invites Guests of Honor on the biggest road race in Africa annually.
In the past years, Great Ethiopian Run has created the platform for renowned athletes to come and meet their fans and followers; have a discussion with the media and be part of the color full race. To mention a few from the previous Guests of Honor the world marathon record holder Paula Radcliff, the long time competitor and friend of Athlete Haile Gebreselase Paul Tergat; the recent time contender of Tirunesh Debaba and Meseret Defar, Vivian Cheruiyot and World half Marathon champion Lornah Kiplagat has been the highlights for the previous years of the Great Ethiopian Run over the years.
On the 18th edition of the Great Ethiopian Run for the first time, GER will be receiving Athelte Zeresenai Tadesse on his first time visit to Ethiopia as its VIP Guest to be part of the Great Ethiopian Run. In addition to Zeresenai, the world champion Marathon Gold medalist the Ugandan Stephen Kiprotich will also make the race even more colorful by being part of the big day.
This year in addition to the Guests of Honor, the elite competition will also have athletes coming from different countries of Africa- Kenya; Uganda; Eretria and more and this will make the race very competitive which makes the winner be unpredictable. The start time for elite men is at 8:00 am and the women race at 8:10 am and the Great Ethiopian Run Organizers have also informed the whole race will be transmitted live on the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporate from 8am – 10am.
